The Queen’s Faith
Discover how Elizabeth II’s whole-life faith in Jesus shaped her life and reign with these beautiful, insightful works.
What made the Queen so admired, respected, and loved by so many across the globe?
This beautiful book explores Elizabeth’s own answer to that question, highlighting how her dynamic Christian faith shaped her vision for her role, and empowered her to be the inspiring servant and example she was, and remains.
Across 10 chapters, it unpacks the ways in which she lived out that faith in every sphere of her life. From the young woman fresh to the throne, to the monarch calling her people to their best, to the grandmother with the common touch. In her job and her home, as a leader and a person, she joined in God’s work – setting an example for millions to follow.
A Life of Grace is perfect to share with friends, family, and colleagues who are curious about the Queen’s faith, and to point them to the King this servant queen followed.
Produced by LICC, HOPE Together, and Bible Society, it was written by Mark Greene, designed by Claire Simmons-Clark, and edited by Catherine Butcher.

It’s no secret that the Queen’s faith in Jesus Christ was of central importance to her. But very little has been written about the particular character of her Christian commitment, or how it fuelled her vision for her role, the nation, and the Commonwealth.
In this fresh analysis, Mark Greene, co-author of The Servant Queen and the King she Serves, looks in depth at what the Queen herself said about her faith. What emerges is a compelling picture of a global stateswoman whose private and public lives were shaped by the Bible and her relationship with Jesus – whose life of sacrifice, service, and compassion was the inspiration and model for hers.
Published in partnership with Bible Society to mark the Platinum Jubilee, this essay both enriches our appreciation of the Queen and challenges us by her example. Share it with friends, family, or colleagues and inspire them with her compelling vision of whole-life discipleship.

In 2016 the Queen celebrated her 90th birthday, and across the country and the Commonwealth people celebrated with her.
In partnership with Bible Society and HOPE, we marked the occasion with a book, The Servant Queen and the King She Serves, which takes a closer look at the Queen’s personal faith in Jesus and the impact it had on her long life of service to the nation.
The book is designed to be a conversation-starter and a gift from churches to their local communities and from individuals to friends, colleagues, or family.
With a foreword from the Queen herself, the book went on to be featured on Songs of Praise and sold over one million copies. We hope you’ll find it encouraging, inspiring, and easy to pass on too.
Watch Mark Greene, co-author of The Servant Queen, talk about his personal response to the Queen’s faith and his inspiration for writing the book.
