Do you know why you do what you do? Does financial services have any meaning and value beyond the wealth it creates for those who work in the sector? And does the Bible have anything relevant to say to the challenges financial service workers face today?
If those questions resonate with you, join us and a panel of Christians working in banking, insurance, and asset management for the first of two seminars covering these important issues.
Both events will be hosted by Amanda Wachsmuth Heavens, International COO for Operational Risk at Morgan Stanley, and LICC’s Work Forum Director Steve Osei-Mensah, whose 33-year business career included time working for Barclays and Legal & General.
This first seminar will begin with an interactive panel examining the key issues at stake for Christians in financial services, followed by a chance to discuss your questions with others in your field. We’ll then move on to examine in depth how we can develop a theology of faith and work.
For Christians in FS, this is a great chance to meet and discuss live issues with others in the same boat. It’s an opportunity to re-frame what the Bible has to say about our chosen roles and our careers in Christ’s service. And it’s a space to learn from God’s word and God’s people about how we can really thrive in what we do – and the way we do it – amid the challenges of 2021.
Although they stand alone, we’d love to see you at both parts of the series – you can sign up for the second seminar here, which will focus on our role as ambassadors and disciples at work (and will include an opportunity to shape our upcoming Faith and Work series for UK financial services).
After selecting your tickets below, you’ll be required to create an Eventbrite account (or log in to an existing account if you have one). You’ll then be able to access the event on the day through your Eventbrite account.
