Revd Dr Ian Paul explores how Revelation speaks powerfully to Christians today, as we seek to be Christ’s faithful witness to the world.
Is Revelation just a confusing book with no relevance to Christian life? Only useful for first Century Christians battling persecution or end-times prophets insisting that every earthquake or fire – even the Coronavirus crisis itself – is a sign of God’s coming judgment?
Stories of thrones, winged creatures, lakes of fire and coloured horses can feel closer to fantasy fiction than biblical truth. And yet, Revelation is a book that speaks powerfully to Christians today, as we seek to be Christ’s faithful witness to and for the world.
Combining dynamic teaching with opportunities for discussion, this day workshop will be suitable for anyone who wants to dig deeper into Revelation, exploring how this part of Scripture sustains and shapes our identity and mission in the world.
The day will be led by Revd. Dr. Ian Paul, theologian, author, speaker, and academic consultant. Ian spent ten years in pastoral ministry before ten years in theological education, and since 2013 he has combined research, writing, teaching and speaking in a freelance capacity. He is Adjunct Professor at Fuller Theological Seminary, Associate Minister at St Nic’s, Nottingham and a member of General Synod.
