As we enter the ‘new normal’ of post-pandemic life, unemployment is at its highest level for five years. A lack of paid work is a real worry for many. What does it mean to be a whole-life disciple when your job disappears?
This event is for people who are out of work, on furlough, or worried about what the future might hold, as well as people supporting someone in that position. It will focus on what it means to have purpose through times of unemployment or job instability, which comes from knowing the bigger story we’re in, having a sense of where we’ve been and where we’re going.
Together we’ll look at what support and resources are available and what steps can be taken proactively in this season. We’ll also share a range of practical tips, reflect on how to find meaning and purpose in our identity in Christ, and explore what is involved in finding that next role.
There’ll also be plenty of useful tips for those at work and in churches who want to help friends, family, and former colleagues facing the reality of life without paid work.
Our seminar leaders are both experience in the world of helping people secure their next role. Jenny Butter is a career coach and works with clients to help them identify and prepare for new roles. Steve Osei-Mensah is our Work Forum Director – prior to joining us he spent three years as a consultant and mentor helping executives through periods of transition from one role to another.
Join us to rediscover what life, work, and purpose could mean for you or those you’re supporting in this season.
After selecting your tickets below, you’ll be required to create an Eventbrite account (or log in to an existing account if you have one). You’ll then be able to access the event on the day through your Eventbrite account.
